I've visited this establishment on three occasions and each time was quite pleasant. It's conveniently close to the mall without being food-court-quality. The staff is friendly, the foods is good and it comes out quickly. My only complaint is that it does get pretty loud when most of the tables are full, which is probably an acoustic/design issue and is not a huge deal.
Great atmosphere and wonderful staff. They have the best home style pizza in town.
AJ's was great! They have the sizes in display, the pizza crust is thin and crispy, and the cheese bricks were fantastic. I had the chicken parm hero, and it was excellent. They've also got some fun salads to balance all the cheese. I'm a Jersey girl, and I can't wait to go back here.
Overpriced pizza that doesn't actually resemble NY pizza at all. The location is cool though.
I am from Wichita and had to make a trip up to Manhattan and this is where me and my wife decited on for lunch. Wow, I am very impressed! Our pizzas were delicious and those garlic knots make me happy I don't reside in Manhattan becuase I would have a new addiction.
Pizza was good but wish crust a little crunchy. Flavor was nice for price and very good service.
As always...great pizza, great service and an enjoyable atmosphere!
Great place and great food! They have tons of specialty pizza choices and you can get all of them in just a slice if you want. The slice is large. I really loved the jalapeño popper pizza and the cheese blocks are amazing!! The Margherita pizza was not great as it was a little bland for me.
I've never in my life had such a tasteless salad. The pizza was absolutely deplorable, you taste nothing but that canned tomato paste taste. Tables were disgusting. Staff looked very unkempt and unclean. When expressing our concerns to the manager, he brushed us off and was very rude to the point where we had to DEMAND a refund. They then only gave us a $10 refund for a $52 bill.Their NY pizza is NOT real NY pizza.Absolutely terrible experience, bad business and horrible food. All of these good reviews are probably from people who are drunk and could care less about how their food tastes.Below are photos of a table full of food that we couldn't even EAT!What a disgrace and a waste of over $50
The food is ok but you will carry the smell of burnt grease home. It is better to eat in the outside area. Also the red sauce very much tastes like canned pasta sauce.
Great place to spend time and catch up with friends. And their pizza is awesome too! This is hands-down the beat pizza in town, so get excited! They offer indoor and outdoor seating with a cool atmosphere. They also deliver (through wildcat2go), or you can just take your pizza home, pizza boxes provided.
Got the hot wing pizza (number 8 I think). Didn’t wait long and our server was attentive. Really couldn’t ask for anything else. Will definitely do again.
Ok pizza, three stars becusse they don't deliver anymore.
great service and good food
Cute little spot and great pizza and beer... Outdoor seating! Always great service and good atmosphere. 🤟
Great NY style pizza joint with order by the slice available with a ridiculous amount of custom toppings. Convienent location just off of Poyntz, close to shopping and upscale drinking establishments.
I love AJ.. it's the closes thing to New York pizza in Kansas.
Great place with amazing pizza. Try the pepperoni bricks for something new and delicious!
Good pizza. And fast delivery.
Pizza is okay and looks like NY style pizza but it does not taste like it. I thought it was a little dry in my preference. Better than most places around here though pizza wise.
First time we had even been in AJ’s Pizza. Several things I noticed after we placed our order. First of all the cups for drinks sits by an area that has maybe flour or something white so spits on the cups. The tables we went to two were dirty still the one we sat at there was crumbs on the chairs and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the ledge but the table we sat at. Then I watched a young man was the tables. He we are in a pandemic and the table were sprayed and washed but he pushed the crumbs of food off the table not scooping it into the wash cloth. The chairs should have been wiped down with a separate cloth since people use their hands to pull and push chairs in but none were washed. The condiments containers did not get wiped off and there were no signs place on every other table to keep people at least six feet apart. To me this place needs re trained how to sanitize due to COVID-19
AJ's is one of my favorite casual downtown restaurants. They have great pizza, they have a balanced ratio of pizza dough to sauce to cheese/toppings, huge salads and their garlic knots are always great. Lots of speciality pizzas, but if you just like cheese and pepperoni they do that well too. Always good service and fun atmosphere.
Pizza is amazin! Good prices and fast service. Also recommend the wings big time. 🍕🐔
It was busy after the football game. They got the order right, brought out the appetizers before the pizza slices. Food was good, NY style pizza. Have no complaints. Given the long line and amount of people, the food came out reasonably fast. I think we waited about 15 min. The slices are large, I got one slice with buffalo wings and it was enough for me.
We found this place downtown after stopping at a few museums. The restaurant was clean, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable!! The pizza was absolutely amazing!! Priced well for what you get. I would highly recommend eating here!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Really good pizza service was great! The slices are good sized. Great value for your money.
Nice live music on the patio
We had never been there. Didn't know we had gone in the secondary entrance. Waited 10 minutes and decided to seat ourselves. During this time, a handful of staff had seen us but didn't acknowledge us. Another couple came in and we over heard them being told where to go to order....we couldn't see this because of the entrance we came in. The food wasn't that great. Bread and toasted ravioli were over baked/cooked. Pizza was ok, but we've definitely had better.Maybe some signage directing where to go, or train staff to acknowledge people who are just standing around. No one checked on us the entire time we were there. No offer to refill drinks as a courtesy since we were there with 3 young children. No one asked how the food was. Just dropped off the food and left.
Extremely good pizza! Service is quick and it's a nice spot downtown. Prices are a little more but three quality is better than most other places. Definitely worth a try!
Local Tastes GreatSometimes, its great to try something that’s not the run of the mill or part of a restaurant chain. At times, you have to shake up your taste buds to something new. AJ’s NY Pizzeria did just that. After work, I decided to give this local shop a chance. I ordered one cheese brick stuffed with pepperoni, and one slice of Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza. The brick arrived fresh from the oven served with a side of sauce. Let’s just say next time I’ll order a set of four! The pizza slice was satisfying not only in taste but in size for the money. Those two items filled me up.Overall: I will return, not only for more bricks but to try the BBQ Chicken Pie.
Great pizza and I love the atmosphere inside. I just wish the sauce wasn't so sweet and was more tomatoey. Still, j love the the pizza is thin crust, not smothered in cheese an has fresh toppings.
Found this place downtown, and the food here is great. Great pizza, great pasta, great sandwiches. I’m not usually the biggest fan of salad but it was good too! I definitely recommend it to anyone!
Pricey but great pizza
Guaranteed you will find a pizza you like. What separates AJs from all the other options is I like that you have the ability to buy a single slice of any pizza. This makes it easier for everyone in the family to get what they want without having to buy multiple pizzas. They absolutely nail the crust and cooking style for an authentic slice of pizza.
Love AJ's Pizzeria! Pizza is always wonderful & great selection of fresh salad's to accompany it. ((The best buffalo-chicken pizza I've found- aka 'Hot-wing pie' w ranch on the side👍))Nice people & great atmosphere too w indoor/outdoor seating. 🍕🥗🍻❤ Terra H.
So, not my favorite pizza place, but I've only been there twice. The garlic knots are excellent, very large and buttery, and a decent price. The pizza is ok, inconsistent on taste. The crust is crispy and very plain, which I like. They have a decent sized menu and a nice, casual atmosphere. It's located just across from the mall on the west/Poyntz Ave side and has a large shaded outdoor eating area.
If pizza was a drug, this would be the best dealer in town.
This place is wonderful. The jalapeno pizza was fantastic. Can't go wrong with the pepperoni squares. I would just eat those as my meal if their specialty pizzas weren't so great. If you are in Manhattan, KS you need to put this on your list.
Good lunch specials, garlic knots that remind me of NYC, and they even have Black and Whites!
I love AJ's pizza. The patio is great. It's nicely shaded so it is enjoyable even in warmer weather.
I ordered delivery through here via eat street, I just finished my dinner before writing this, I wanted to give a fair opinion of the food, despite myself being from New York, and my name is AJ , but the point is I ordered the pizza, and 1 XL pie and large pie. With eatstreet cost 56$ , no sides or drinks, that's pretty expensive for a pie at almost 20$ or more each. My food arrived hardly warm meanwhile it's the middle of summer, but I figured I would give it a try, my pizza was overcooked, plain and simple, it tasted like a dollar pizza slice I used to get in Manhattan New York, the cheese was a strange texture and the sauce tasted like a jarred tomatoe sauce, I guess it had some of the NY style right in terms of the slice size , all in all I would say its just ok, nothing to write home about, needless to say I probably wont go back, but if you want to try some ok pizza then this will do in a pinch.
Definitely better than the average pizza chain restaurant
Location and the pizza are incredible. I really enjoy being able to relax downtown and know that I can just walk down the street and grab some pizza any time I want 😋
Favorite pizza in town. So many unique choices and all the traditional pies as well. Atmosphere is fun and enjoyable for the whole family. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I prefer outside seating when possible and AJ's patio is the best in town even allowing you to bring your dog onto the patio on certain days.
Probably the best pizzeria around here. The food is delicious and you get lots of it for a cheap price. I absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere and the management. You don't wait too long for your food. Good for groups. I definitely recommend it.
Best pizza in Manhattan. Calzones spot on. Service adaquate
Best pizza ever! And the cheese bricks are amazing. Fresh ingredients, fast service and I love that you can get giant slices individually.
Nice pizza place. Not too hard on wallet. One great thing is that you can order pizza slices, so you can eat different pizzas. Btw, the slices are huge.
Dont eat here if you like food with taste. Thank God they sell alcohol because you have to be drunk like most of these customers were to eat this mess. Horrible food. No taste. Left hungry. Refused to give a refund on all the food we couldn't eat. How do you refund $10 for a $12.99 order of wings?
